IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mark A.
Lowery
April 14, 1951 – August 16, 2025
Mr. Mark Adrian Lowery, 74, of Uniontown, formerly of Grindstone, PA, passed away on August 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on April 14, 1951, to the late Jack and Mary Caringola Lowery of Grindstone.
Mark was a dedicated husband, of forty-two years, to Christine (Jenko) Lowery, and loving father to his son, Edward Jack "EJ" Lowery.
He is also survived by nieces, Lora Lee Martini, Barb (Andrew) Duda, and Susan Kolarik; nephews, Chip (Robin) Broadwater, Edward Broadwater, John Lowery, Mark Lowery, and Zachary Pockstaller; a sister-in-law, Barbara Jenko; numerous great nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Pippa.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Duchess Schmidt; a brother, John Lowery; nephews, Corey John "Nugget" Martini and Robert Gibson; parent-in-laws, Edward and Margaret Jenko; and a sister-in-law, Arlene Jenko.
Mark graduated from Frazier High School, class of 1969. He later obtained a licensed mechanic degree from Vale Technical Institute.
He worked at US Steel for thirty-three years in various roles at Duquesne Works and the Edgar Thompson plant. He also worked at the Honda dealership for five years and Nemacolin Woodlands for six years.
Mark was the co-founder, along wife his wife, Christine, of the Challenger Division Little League. A league for children with special needs, giving them an opportunity to participate in the game of baseball. This organization continues to operate today under the of the Miracle League.
He was a long-time member of St. Mary Nativity Church of Uniontown. He was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan.
Mark will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and ability to make others laugh and make them feel as if they were a part of his family. He was always very welcoming to others around him. He will mostly be remembered for his loving devotion to his wife and son who were always with him. He would jump into the car to run an errand, and then they would wind up driving to another state, just to be together and for the experience for his son EJ. He truly was the perfect definition of a great family man. He was loved by so many people whose lives he touched, that he was referred to as "Uncle Mark". He will be sadly missed.
