After a courageous battle with cancer, Mark A. Franks, 57, of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 and was reunited with his son Christopher. Mark was born December 15, 1960, in Uniontown, a son of the late Paul Franks Sr., and Caroline (Paroda) Franks.

In addition to his parents and his son Christopher Alan Franks, in 1998, Mark was preceded in death by his half-brother, Jeffries; his father-in-law, Vernon Hendrickson; his brother-in-law, Wayne Dullerud; his step father-in-law, Roger; and many other family members.

Mark proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked for the City of Uniontown, in the Street Dept, for 38 years. He also did security work, and worked at Uniontown High School for 7 years. Mark was a long time member of the Hutchinson Sportsman's Club and was an avid Pittsburgh Sports Fan, especially the Penguins and the Steelers. He enjoyed going to the beach and loved to spend time with his family, they enjoyed playing poker and having Card Nights. Mark was a loving husband, caring father, and a good friend. He truly left a mark on everyone and will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish Mark's memory, are his loving wife of 38 years, Charlotte R. Franks; his daughter, Christina Franks Zivkovich and her husband Craig; his brothers, Paul Jr., and Rodney Franks; his mother-in-law, Shirley Hendrickson of ND; brothers-in-law, Vergil Herdrickson and his wife Laura and Stephen Hendrickson; sisters-in-law, Sharon Dullerud of SD, Anita Gundvaldson and her husband Stephen of SD, and Beverly Gonzales of SD; his best friends; Robert Smith and Ronnie Varndell; friends of the family, who were like his own children, Tim Brashear and Jessica Kemp; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, today, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m., the Hour of Service with Rev. Galen E. Winebrenner Officiating.
In honor of Mark, all relatives and friends are encouraged to wear Penguins or Steelers apparel.
In lou of tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Franks Family.
Entombment will be privately held in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
