Margaret A. Tomecheck (Korintus)'s Obituary
Margaret A. (Korintus) Tomecheck, 96 of Adah, PA, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. She was born on December 14, 1916 in Filbert WV, to John and Lydia (Cseffo) Korintus.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years Walter F. Tomecheck; a daughter Evelyn A. Marovic; brothers, John, Joseph, and Steve; and sisters, Elizabeth Prizzi, Ethyl Stepanic, Barbara Tomecek, and Annie Stuble
She was a member of St. Albert R.C. Church, Palmer, PA, and Charter Member and three-term President of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the Palmer Pioneers and Our Lady of Perpetual Help St. Mary Rosary Society. Margaret liked gardening, and was famous for her berry pies.
She is survived by her children, Mary M. Shalek and husband Arthur of Chardon, OH; Elizabeth L. Gorman and husband Tom of Palmer, PA; Allan R. Vinch and wife Joyce of Stevensville, MD; ten grandchildren, Mark Shalek and wife Lorene, Deborah Zuzek and husband Mark, Julia Dugan and husband Kerry, Christine Hundertmark and husband Jay, Tracy Johnson, Celeste Woods and husband Craig, David Marovic and wife Kimberly, Donna Marovic, Michael Vinch and wife Ana, and Lauren Bigbee and husband Larry; 16 great grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Ruszkiewicz of Cleveland, OH; special niece, Rosemary Wilson of Elizabeth, PA; and special nephew, Paul Tomecek of Palmer, PA
Friends will be received in the Haky Funeral Home, 515 N. Main St., Masontown, PA, on Thursday, July 11 from 2-8 p.m., and on Friday, July 12 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 101 S. Washington St., Masontown, PA, with Rev. Father James F. Petrovsky as Celebrant.
Interment will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Mary Cemetery, Leckrone, PA.
The Confraternity of Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary today (Thursday) at 3 p.m., followed by the Parish Wake Service at 4:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery Chapel Fund.
