Obituary

Margaret (Marge) Stoyko Piccolomini, 91 of Uniontown passed away Monday, August 12, 2019 at her home. She was born on October 12, 1927 in Gates to the late John and Anna (Urosh) Stoyko. She is survived by her son Mario D. and his wife Elizabeth (Oldland) Piccolomini of Uniontown, a daughter Tina M. Piccolomini of Gainesville, VA, four grandchildren Richard E. Bower Jr. of Connellsville, Emily F. Bower of Maitland, Fl, Santo A. Piccolomini of Uniontown and Mario A. Piccolomini of Uniontown, a sister-in-law Enis Argenti of Lorain, OH, a sister and brother-in-law Constance and Carmen of New Smyrna Beach, FL, a brother and sister-in-law Dominic and Barbara Piccolomini of Uniontown, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parent's, Marge was preceded in death by her husband Louis E. Piccolomini, brothers, Michael, John, Pete, Steve, George, Paul , Charles and Frank Stoyko, sisters, Helen Stoyko Kachersky, Mary Stoyko, Anna Stoyko Fulford and Pauline Stoyko Yoskovich. During World War II at the age of 15, Marge moved to Cleveland, OH, to work for Union-Carbide. Soldering batteries for the military's two way radios. After the war, Marge moved back to Pennsylvania and worked at Uniontown Hospital doing laundry. From 1969 until her retirement, Marge worked at Menallen Elementary School as a cook. During her retirement years, she enjoyed going to Mass, gardening, canning, cooking, bingo and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Marge will be remembered for her hard work ethics, great faith and love of God, her quick wit and her favorite phrase "You're going to get it!" Very special thank you to Michelle and Heidi and all the staff at Amedisys Hospice for their support and care of Marge and helping her daughter-in-law Liz, her primary caregiver, in the last months of her life. "He will destroy death forever, The Lord God will wipe away the tears from their faces..Isaiah, 25:8" Friends will be received at Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext. Uniontown on Thursday from 2-7 PM, Friday Prayers of Transfer 9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese  De Lisieux Church, Mill Street, Uniontown at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations to the Diocese of Greensburg at www.dioceseofgreensburg.org in her memory.
