Obituary

Margaret Ann (Hlebak) Jenko, 87, of Uniontown, PA died on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Golden Living Center Uniontown, PA. She was born on July 12, 1925 in Republic, PA, daughter of Martin and Matilda (Matay) Hlebak.

Margaret was the last member of her immediate family, preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward R. "Eddie" Jenko whom she married on July 26, 1944 at Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Republic; and sisters, Matilda Fedarko and Sophie Shergy; and brothers, Martin Hlebak, and Raymond Hlebak also preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Barbara A. Jenko of Merrittstown; Arlene M. Jenko of Uniontown; and Christine N. Lowery and husband Mark of Uniontown; five grandchildren, Barb Duda and husband Andrew, Susan R. Kolarik, Jimmy Frey, Jr. and wife Linda, Zachary Pockstaller and Melissa, and Edward Jack "E.J." Lowery; four great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Albert Jenko and wife Dolores of Warren, MI; sister-in-law, Trudy Hlebak of Phoenix, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews; and her close friend Clyde Vernon of Uniontown.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks and appreciation for the wonderful, compassionate care provided by the nursing staff and caregivers of Golden Living Center, especially Chante Lewis, Kathy Nicholson, and Tina, Perry; and also caregivers of Fayette Home Care Hospice; and Amedisys Home Care Nurse and friend Gina Lewis.

Margaret was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church; Charter Member Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary; AMVETS Post # 103 Ladies Auxiliary, and the former VFW Post 47 Ladies Auxiliary. She was employed with Hills Dept. Store where she served as Head Cashier before her retirement.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext. Uniontown, PA, on Monday, March 4, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; and on Tuesday, March 5, until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 N. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, with Rev. Father Stephen R. Bugay as Celebrant.

Interment will be held at Mount Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.

The Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary will hold a ritual on Monday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

The Parish Wake Service will be held on Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
