Mafalda V. "Foldy" (Pantalo) Soom, age 88, a lifelong resident of Uniontown, PA., passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011 in the Uniontown Hospital.

She was born on July 4, 1922 in Uniontown, PA., daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Ottaviani) Pantaleo.

Mafalda was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church. She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her loving, kind, and generous nature.

Mafalda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel V. Soom; an infant son, Samuel V. Soom Jr.; two brothers, Patsy Pantalo and George Pantalo; two sisters; Philomena Mullen and Anna Agreste; sisters-in-law, Anna Mary Pantalo and Evelyn Pantalo; brother-in-law Donald Mullen; and nephews, Harry, Randy, and Patrick Pantalo.

Surviving are her brothers, Jacob Pantalo and wife Helen, Philip "Flip" Pantalo, Louis Pantalo and wife Lucy; sister-in-law Anne L. Pantalo; brother-in-law, Willian Agreste; 18 godchildren, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and a special friend, Linda Snyder.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc. 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext. Uniontown, PA 15401 on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, and Thursday, June 30, 2011, Until 9:15 AM when prayers of transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM in. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, located at 61 Mill St., Uniontown, PA 15401 with Monsignor Michael W. Matusak as Celebrant

Interment will be held in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA

A Parish Wake Service will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
