Madeline A. (Kozel) Shutok, 92, of Uniontown, went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2015. She was born at home by a midwife in Bitner, PA on January 25, 1923.
Madeline was a kind-hearted and generous woman of faith, hope, and love, who opened her heart to many people, and made all who entered her home feel welcome.
In her younger days, she worked as a cosmetologist. During World War II, she worked at a defense plant in Dearborn, MI, riveting, selling War Bonds, and welding B-17's, B-24's, and B-29's. Madeline was multi-talented, an excellent seamstress and baker but her most rewarding role was a loving wife, and mother to her children. She was a life-long member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, and for many years a member of St. Mary Golden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Shutok; infant daughter, Marie; parents, Anna (McNosky) and John Kozel Sr.; sisters, Elizabeth Vitti and Veronica Nara; and brother, Benedict.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cindy Shutok of Uniontown, Linda Shutok-LeRoy (Stephen) of Canonsburg, and Eileen Shutok-Cutright (Kevin) of Pittsburgh; her siblings, Irene Fitzpatrick, Margaret Gursky (Steve), Theresa Stepanik (Mike), John Kozel Jr. (Colleen) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Thank you for your compassion, care, and support to friends, family, Amedysis Hospice, Comforting Care, Robin, Tonia and all the other angels who cared for our dear mother!
