Lydia Rita (Piccioni) D'Amico died on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Hospice of Palm Beach County in West Palm Beach, Florida at the age of 92.
Lydia (Piccioni) D'Amico was born on September 17, 1921 on Pechin Hill in Dunbar, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Antonio and Theresa (Tavoni) Piccioni whom were both born in Italy. At the age of 20, she married Sullivan D'Amico of Dunbar. In 1942, they gave birth to their first child Donald (wife Mary Jane) D'Amico of Dunbar, PA. In 1947, they gave birth to their second child, Carol D'Amico (husband Raymond) Spooner of Wellington, FL. The same year, Lydia and her husband Sullivan, co-founded Pechin Market on the first floor of a rented two story house.
Lydia will always be in the hearts of her family. Included are 5 grandchildren: Patricia (husband James) Earnesty, Suzanne (husband Rob) Maphis, Donald (wife Krista) D'Amico, Amy (husband Michael) Russell and Michelle (husband Derek) Maddux. She also had 11 great grandchildren: Joshua Earnesty, Carson and Connor D'Amico, Brianna, Alexa and Ava Maphis, TJ and Joseph Phillipi and Kaitlyn, Colton and Kylie Maddux.
She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings to include: Jenny Crocetti, Mary Frick, Adolph Piccioni, Clara Cellurale, Amelia Gambone, Agatha Tomaro and Francis Piccioni. She is survived by many nieces and nephews who were a crucial part of her life.
Lydia enjoyed playing cards, decorating for all of the holidays, watching Fox News, playing with her dog, Oreo and spending time with her family. Lydia also loved being involved in church activities including serving as a Eucharistic Minister, being President of the Ladies Club as well as the Catholic Daughters of America and planning a countless number of charitable events. She was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Catholic Church in Wellington, Florida.
Our world is forever changed without her, but her eternity has just begun. Rest in peace, Lydia D'Amico. You will always be in our hearts.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Thursday, October 24, from 1-4 and 5-9 p.m.; and on Friday, October 25, until 9:15; when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m., St. Rita Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville, PA, with Rev. Father Bob T. Lubik as Celebrant.
Entombment will be held at Sylvan Heights Mausoleum.
