It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for the time we shared that we announce the

passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Louis Tito “Joby”

Cantalamessa. Born May 17, 1951, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Joby departed this world on

March 25, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love,

laughter, and resilience.

Joby was the cherished son of the late Louis Cantalamessa and Catherine (Katy) Lyon Palumbo

(Francis Palumbo). He was raised in a nurturing and loving family, which shaped the

compassionate and joyful spirit that so many came to adore. In addition to his parents and

stepfather, he was predeceased by brother-in-law Regis Maher and sister-in-law Joan Palumbo.

Joby is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Pamela Cantalamessa, who was his steadfast

partner in all of life's adventures. From their marriage on August 8, 1992, they embarked on a

journey of love and commitment, always finding delight in each other's presence. Joby was the

proud and adoring father of his three children, who survive him: Elizabeth (Mike) Powell, Job

(Kim) Cantalamessa, and Tito Cantalamessa. His three grandsons, Dylan, Grant, and Cristian,

brought a joy to his life that can only be understood by fellow grandparents.

After graduating from Uniontown High School in 1969, Joby furthered his education at Salem

College, laying the groundwork for his entrepreneurial spirit. In 1974, he established Joby's

Service Station and Towing, dedicating over five decades to serving his community. Known for

his exceptional work ethic and warm customer service, Joby made lasting relationships,

becoming a beloved fixture in the Uniontown landscape. His dedication was recognized in 2024

when he was awarded for his long-term service with AAA.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Joby knew how much he loved doing the simple things

in life, such as caring for plants, helping out any and all stray animals, or mixing up frozen drinks

on vacation. Nothing made him happier than spending time at the beach just enjoying the

ocean and searching for seashells, a passion he loved sharing with his grandson Cristian. His

home was a haven of hospitality, where his magnetic personality and talent for entertaining

made every guest feel valued and cherished. Joby truly never met a stranger, and had a

fluorescent personality that left a lasting impression on all who crossed paths with him. He was

the best of the best that this world had to offer.

Joby's siblings, Sherrey Maher (Herb) Myers, Chip Palumbo, Rush (Don) Miller, Mia (Dave) Faris,

and David (Alison) Palumbo, along with his many close cousins and friends, will forever treasure

their memories of him. Together, they will continue to celebrate the life of a man whose

kindness and humor touched everyone he met.

The Cantalamessa family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Rhee, Ellie, Dr. Choudry, and

the dedicated nursing staff at the Hillman Cancer Center for their exceptional care and devotion

during Joby's treatment. As he did with everything in his life, Joby approached his treatments

with a positivity that was unmatched and a strength that was admirable.

Some people are human medicine. You spend an hour with them and everything feels better.

Joby was this to everyone who knew him. This quality was a testament to the depth of the

blessing he was in our lives. We will forever miss him, but his spirit lives on in the love he

shared and the memories we cherish. We are so profoundly blessed that we got to call him

ours.

Memorial services to honor Joby's life will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Haky's

Funeral Home, located at 603 N. Gallatin Ave Ext., Uniontown, PA, 15401. Memorial times will

be from 12:00-3:00pm and 5:00-8:00pm. A service will follow on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at

11:00am at the funeral home, with a luncheon to follow at Uniontown Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family

kindly requests donations to be made to Keeping the Faith Animal Shelter and Rescue Center,

reflecting Joby's enduring love for animals.
