Ms. Lorene G. Kusniar, 91, of Hopwood, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at her home.

She was born in Mill Run on January 31, 1934, to the late Roy and Elloise Miller Friend.

She married Mr. William Kusniar, and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1994.

Lorene worked as a registered nurse for her career.  She retired as school nurse from the Connellsville School District.

She was a member of St. Mary Nativity Church.

Lorene was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by a daughter, Paula Kusniar of Hopwood; seven grandchildren, Cody McClelland, Matthew Kusniar, William Kusniar, Simon Kusniar, Brittany Jellison, Brett Kusniar, and Brooke Kusniar; two great grandchildren, Felicity and Wesley Jellison; a sister, Marti Blake; and a brother, Edgar Friend and wife Maria.\

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four sons, William, Randall, Mark, and Terrance Kusniar.

Services are private for Lorene.

Interment is in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
