Obituary

Mrs. Linda L. Mattis, 60, of Uniontown, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at WeCare at Rolling Meadows in Waynesburg.

She was born in Uniontown on July 23, 1965 to the late Bernard and Rosalie German Polkabla.

Linda graduated from Uniontown High School, class of 1983.

She married Terry Mattis on May 6, 1989.

Linda was a member of St. Mary Nativity Church.

She worked as a paraprofessional for Lafayette Elementary School.

Linda LOVED Christmas!

She is survived by her husband, Terry Mattis of Uniontown; son, Douglas Mattis of Uniontown; daughter, Sarah Mattis and Paul Fuge of Brentwood; nieces, Stephanie Mattis of Connellsville and Jennifer Kokosinski and husband Jason of Wellsburg, WV; a nephew, Andrew Mattis of Connellsville; great nephews, Austin Gibson, Johnothan Gibson, and Elliott Mattis; and numerous special friends and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Polkabla; and a brother, Bernard Polkabla, Jr.

Visitation for Linda will be held at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401 on Thursday, June 4th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A blessing service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 5th at 11 AM at the funeral home.

Interment is in Mt. St. Macrina Cemetery.
