Leona Ruth (Bryner) McGettigan, age 66, of Smithfield,PA, died on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at her home.

She was born on July 8, 1945 in Uniontown, PA, daughter of Brent and Thelma (Nicklow) Bryner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary Glenn McGettigan; and two brothers, Brent Bryner and Paul Bryner.

Leona attended Cherry Tree Alliance Church, and recently retired from Dr. William T. Ainsley Podiatry office in Uniontown.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, son, Dan McGettigan and wife Jane, and daughter, Jennifer Karpeal and husband Paul, all of Smithfield, PA.; three grandchildren, Drew McGettigan, Hayley McGettigan, and Matthew Karpeal; eight brothers and sisters, Jim Bryner and wife Robena, Eva Harford, Carl Bryner and wife Colleen, Norma Stiner, Verna Lewis and husband James all of Ohio, Donna Gates and husband Ed of Uniontown, PA., Betty Leeper and husband Bob,of Fairchance, PA, and Linda Long and husband Doug of California; her devoted friend, George "Huck" Rattay of Uniontown, PA; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Saturday, May 12 from 7-9 PM, Sunday, May 13, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Monday, May 14 from 10 AM until 11 AM, the Hour of Service with Pastor Jack Herman Officiating.

Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
