Lawrence Junior Sanders, 85 of Jefferson, formerly of Bobtown, PA, died on Monday, January 9, 2017 at home. He was born in Monongalia County West Virginia on July 22, 1931 son of the late Frank and Myrtle Sanders. He was also preceded in death by a son, Lawrence J. Sanders, Jr., 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army, and was retired from Security Forces, Inc.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 60 years, Grace B. (Cress) Sanders, their daughter, Pamela "Penny" Sanders of Washington, PA; a sister, Violet Marie Sanders of Beaumont, TX; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 515 N. Main St., Masontown, PA, on Friday, January 13, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., when the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels, PA, where military honors will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491.
