Lawrence V. "Buster" Gillen of Uniontown, Pa. passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.

He was born March 8, 1931 in Cycle Park, Uniontown, PA the son of the late L. V. Gillen and Bertha Silbaugh Gillen Snyder.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 8543 and the AMVETS Post 103; and served as Chaplin at both clubs for many years. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans and the American Legion Post 51.

Buster was a retired truck driver for Furniture Land in Cleveland, Ohio.

In addition to his parents deceased are, his brother Robert, his sister Beverly May and brother-in-law Frank May. Buster was the last of his immediate family.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Staley Ankney Gillen; son, Larry Gillen and wife Sue; daughters, Debbie Lattener and husband Eric and Lori Gillen; step-son, Daniel Ankney and wife Linda, all of Ohio; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; niece Donna Lee Hirst; and many cousins and good friends.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, Pa. on Saturday, February 7, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. the Hour of Service.

The AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood will conduct military services at the funeral home.

Interment at Sylvan Heights Cemetery will be held at a later date.
