Obituary

It is with great sadness that we share that Mr. Kenneth R. "Tucker" Herbert, 92, of Uniontown, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Uniontown Hospital; just shy of his 93rd birthday. To know Tucker was to love him and he will be greatly missed by all.

He was born in Uniontown (Phillips) on September 3, 1932 to the late Earl and Sara Lilley Herbert.

He graduated from North Union High School. Kenneth "Tucker" was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, Korean War.  He was a proud member of the SAR - Sons of the American Revolution.

Tucker, a devoted husband married Elaine Ritsko who preceded him in death on March 27, 2012.

Kenneth "Tucker"retired from US Steel Duquesne Works many years ago. He kept busy and active in the community with many causes including AMVETS, and veteran charities, The American Legion and volunteered at election polls.

Tucker loved to create art from steel and invented many helpful gadgets that he gave to people. He was quick witted, always had a smile and a joke. He had a heart of gold and gave far more than he ever received. Tucker found tremendous joy in helping others and was always there to lend a helping hand, so much so that he never asked anyone for help, even as his health recently declined.

Tucker is survived by his loving daughter, Sara Herbert and grandchildren, Justin Galloway and Alana Galloway of New York City, many relatives and friends including Sara's husband Barry Klarberg and family. Tucker left a positive and joyous imprint on all who met him...everyone who knew him,  loved him.

He came from a large family of 12 in Phillips and was the last survivor of eleven Herbert siblings, Robert, Viola, Leona, Jean, Earl, Sara, Charles, Wilda, Evelyn, Melvin and James.

Visitation for Kenneth will be held at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401 on Friday, August 29th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
