Kenneth J. Misiak, 81, of Uniontown, PA died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 8, 2018.

Ken was born on November 6, 1936 in Mt. Pleasant, PA, son of Marion and Josephine (Fornal) Misiak. His parents, brother Marion Misiak, Jr., brothers-in-law, Al Kosisko and Lloyd "Dickie" Howard, mother-in-law Frances Raffle and Step-father-in-law Charles Raffle preceded him in death.

Ken graduated from Uniontown High School in 1954, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Bethany College. He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. Ken enjoyed gardening, and loved spending time with his family at Ocean City, MD., his favorite vacation spot.

He was the Head Boys Basketball Coach until his retirement in 2007. In 49 seasons at Geibel High School, Ken's career record was 734 wins, one of only five coaches in Pennsylvania history to win 700 games.

His crowning achievement was leading the Gators to a PIAA Class A championship in 1978, the only undefeated team in the state of Pennsylvania. He also served as the Uniontown Parks and Recreational Director for 35 years. A great Coach, Teacher, and Athletic Director, Ken was inducted into the Fayette County Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 58 years Barbara (Howard) Misiak. She was truly his number one fan. Also his loving and devoted daughter Jamie Lynn Misiak whom he adored, his sister, Dolores Kosisko of Connellsville, PA; sister-in-law, Phyllis Casurole and husband Carl of Uniontown, PA; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog "Sage".

Ken faced cancer the way he coached, with a game plan. Even in death he won. The most important thing was how he lived his life with faith, dignity, and a positive attitude.

The family would like to thank Dr. Dai for her loving and compassionate care for Ken. Not only was she his doctor she was his friend. Also thank you to his UPMC Hillman Cancer Center family. He thought the world of all of you.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Friday, January 12, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m; and on Saturday, January 13, until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, PA, with his Godson, Father Rick Kosisko as celebrant.

Interment will be held at Mount St. Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
