Kenneth W. D'Amore, 70, of Smock, Pa. died on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Veterans Administration Pittsburgh Health Care Hospital, Oakland, Pa. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, son of the late Leopold W. and Donna J. (Grubbick) D'Amore.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by step-mother Gladys Redmond D'Amore, and a step-brother, Tim Martin, and a nephew Ryan Redmond.
Kenneth was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the United States Air Force. He was a 1964 graduate of Campbell High School, Youngstown, OH. For many years Kenneth was employed as a corporate accountant. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and Cleveland Indians. He enjoyed softball, fishing, horseback riding, and bowling as a member of the ABC Bowling League.
He will be dearly missed by his family, son, Kenneth G. D'Amore and wife Emily of Columbus, Oh, daughter, Kelly D'Amore of Erie, Pa., grandson, Mason D'Amore, step-daughter, Christine D'Amore of Erie, Pa., siblings, Thomas D'Amore of Hermitage, Pa, Leo "Dave" D'Amore and wife Lila "Noreen" of Land O'Lakes, FL, Kathleen "Kathy" Turjanica and her husband Michael, with whom he made his home for over 30 years, and Leopold W. D'Amore, Jr. and wife Marcia of Sharpsville, Pa., a step-sister, Carol Baumgartner of Youngstown, OH, step-brothers, Donald Redmond and wife Tina of Sharpsville, Pa., Gary Redmond of Franklin, Pa., Mike Redmond and wife Sandy and Dennis Redmond and wife Liana all of Hermitage, Pa., a beloved uncle, aunts, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
A private family gathering will be held at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, Pa. on Tuesday, June 6, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A Blessing Service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti officiating. Military honors will then be accorded by the George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103.
Private Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA
