Kathleen Ann (Zubal) Montel, 79 of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Monday April 7, 2014.
She was born on December 3, 1934 in Uniontown, Pa, a daughter of John and Irene (Plichta) Basta.

Kathleen was very active in her community and church, a member of St. Therese RC Church, Uniontown, PA, St Therese Altar Society, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary, a 1952 graduate of North Union High School, former employee of West Penn Power Co., The Former VFW Post 47 and The Fayette Company, a Volunteer for the Nursery School at Calvary Methodist Church and the Girl Scouts of Southwestern Pa. she was also very active in planning and organizing The annual Areford Park Picnic

The greatest joy in her life was playing and spending time with her grandson Dylan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Thomas Montel, and her brother John R. Zubal.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Jamie Brooks and her husband Rick, grandson Dylan Brooks, her sister Donna Dragich and her husband George, her sister in law Joan Zubal, her aunt Verna Fowler and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Tuesday April 8, 2014 from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Thursday April 10, 2014 until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, at 10:00 AM, with Msgr. Michael W. Matusak as Celebrant.

The Parish Wake Service will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. St. Therese Altar Society will recite the Rosary following the Parish Wake Service.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA
