Katherine "Katie" Androsik, age 94, of Gates, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Uniontown Hospital. She was born on April 12, 1917 in New Alexandria, PA, daughter of Charles and Martha Malish.

Her parents, beloved husband Fred Androsik, and five brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dave Androsik and wife Patricia of Pennsylvania; Mary Ellen Wirsing and husband Ken of Maryland; Randy Androsik and wife Lynn of Ohio; Marty Androsik and wife Barb of Ohio; Ellie Berdachowski and husband Ski of Massachusetts; Janie Murrell and husband Jerry of Virginia; Dan Androsik and wife Diana of Pennsylvania; and Joycelynn Androsik of Pennsylvania; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; 3 sisters; and 3 brothers.

Katie was a spectacular cook, baker, and seamstress. She enjoyed entertaining her family with singing and yodeling, and also tending her flowers and vegetable garden. Katie made her home a special place of warmth and comfort for her family, and was fiercely protective of her children. She was a devoted mother, and proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She also had a very special place in her heart for all of her little puppies.



Friends will be received at the Haky Funeral Home, Inc, 515 North Main St., Masontown, PA, on Monday, August 22, from 4-8 p.m.; and on Tuesday, August 23, from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

A Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m., with her grandson Daniel Truman Androsik II, and Father John M. Butler Officiating.

Interment will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Mary Cemetery, Leckrone, PA.
