Julia (Stefanic) Swartz, 86, of Uniontown, PA, died peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Generations Elder Care, Masontown, PA. She was born on July 18, 1927 in Continental #1, PA, daughter of the late Samuel and Julia (Yajakovic) Stefanic.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Anthony Swartz, Sr.; a son, David Allen Swartz; and brothers and sisters, (infant) John Stefanic, Mary Stefanic, Nick Stefanic, Ann Stefanic, Paul Stefanic, Walter Stefanic, and Mildred Swartz.
Julia was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and the Croatian Fraternal Union. She was a faithful and loving woman, and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joseph Anthony Swartz, Jr. and wife Linda of Uniontown, PA; Mary Ann Naugle and husband David of New Salem, PA; and Robert Eugene Swartz of Uniontown, PA; daughter-in-law, Susan Swartz of Uniontown, PA; grandchildren, Joseph Anthony Swartz, III., Brian Michael Swartz, David Dylan Naugle, Jacob Adam Naugle, Jeremy Miller, and Sarah Alyce Swartz; great granddaughters, Julia Marie Swartz and Rozalynn Dianna Naugle; sisters, Helen Salvo of Masontown, PA, and Pauline Holet of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA., on Tuesday, August 20, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; and on Wednesday, August 21, until 9:30 a.m., when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 North Mt. Vernon Ave, Uniontown, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti as Celebrant.
Interment will be at Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.

The Parish Wake Service will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m., followed by the St. Mary Confraternity of Christian Mothers Rosary.
