Obituary

Julia J. Florkevich, age 91, of Uniontown, PA, died suddenly on Sunday, August 7, 2011, at home.

She was born on May 18, 1920 in Allison, PA, daughter of the late Adolph and Josephine (Drebik) Mysza.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband John W. Florkevich, Jr. in 1990; a sister, Ann Waltz, and a brother, Frank Mysza.

Julia was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. She retired from Berkowitz Shirt Factory where she was a Manager for 42 years at the Uniontown and Waynesburg locations.

In her later years, she enjoyed daily walks with her friends at Sylvan Heights, and also gardening. She will be remembered by her immediate and extended family for her compassion, and the special way she cared about them.

Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her only grandchild Bryan, who was her pride and joy.

She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Linda Florkevich; and cherished grandson Bryan C. Florkevich, all of Uniontown, PA; seven brothers and sisters, Joseph Mysza and wife Mary Anne of Massillon. OH; Adolph Mysza and wife Jean of Cleveland, OH; Betty Flak of Cleveland, OH; Dinah Fiffick and husband Andy of Cleveland, OH: Mary Stanish of Uniontown, PA; Agnes Kobzowicz of Cleveland, OH; and Thomas Mysza and wife Marlene of Cleveland, OH; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Di Lorenzo of Miami, FL; and Lucille Mysza of Washington, PA; and many loving nieces and nephews and their families.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Tuesday, August 9, from 5-9 p.m.; and on Wednesday, August 10, until 9:15 a.m., when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

A Funeral Mass will follow on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 180 Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, PA., with Rev. Father James F. Clark as Celebrant.

Interment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
