Judith (Sandorf) Ewing Garofalo, age 62, of Brownsville, PA., passed away suddenly, on Friday, March 8, 2013 at her home. She was born on March 9, 1950 in Uniontown, PA., the daughter of Alfred F. Sandorf, Jr. and Clara (Mateosky) Sandorf.
Judith was a 2nd grade teacher at Graysville Elementary School, of the West Greene School District. She graduated from St. John's High School of Uniontown, in 1968 and California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors degree in 1985 and again with a Masters degree in 1995. She enjoyed spending her time gardening, bird watching, star gazing, vacationing, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alfred Sandorf, Sr., Kathryn Sandorf, John Mateosky, and Veronica Mateosky.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband and companion of 20 years, Dr. William R. Garofalo; three children, James David Ewing, Jr. and wife Melanie, Frank Richard Ewing and wife Shannon, and Jennifer Ewing Jubin and husband Robert Jr.; nine grandchildren, James Ewing, Maggie Ewing, A.J. Ewing, Zachary Ewing, Emma Ewing, Ethan Ewing, Colin Ewing, George Jubin, and Samuel Jubin; four siblings, Susan Frost and husband Bruce, Marilyn Sandorf and husband Jeff Neubauer, Karen Sandorf and husband Dave George, and Michael Sandorf and wife Kathy; a nephew, Jonathan Sandorf and wife Casey; a niece, Jessica Sandorf; and her faithful pet of 20 years, Domino.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8PM and again on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 untill 9:30AM when Prayers of Transfer will be held.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, PA with Rev. Fr. James D. Tringhese as Celebrant
Interment will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
