Juanita (Trew) Burke Petro, age 87, of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Saturday evening, August 20, 2011 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

She was born on October 20, 1923 in Masontown, PA, daughter of the late William and Cecil (Taylor) Trew. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis P. Burke, with whom she was married 26 years.

Juanita was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Uniontown, PA, and was a graduate of Masontown High School. In her early years, she had been employed with Bell Telephone Company; and also worked with mentally handicapped children.

Juanita was the co-owner and operator of the House of Flowers in Masontown, PA., loved flowers and was also an avid Bridge player. She was a former member of the Uniontown Country Club, Uniontown Country Club Bridge Club, and Sunday Nighter's.

She is survived by her loving husband Ed Petro, with whom she would have celebrated 31 years of marriage on August 30; and also by Ed's children, Sandy Tracy and husband Arthur of Uniontown, PA; E. Robert Petro and wife Pat of New Port Richey, FL; and Alan Michael Petro and wife Gioia of New Orleans, LA; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Genevieve Jarzynka of Masontown, PA; a brother, George "Bubs" Trew and wife Grace of Lower Burrell, PA; and many loving nieces and nephews and their families.



Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Tuesday, August 23, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m.; and on Wednesday, August 24, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., the Hour the Service, with Pastor Don Kephart Officiating.

Interment will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
