Joyce Ann (Stedman) Baker, of Uniontown, died suddenly on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Uniontown Hospital.
She was born in Torrington, Connecticut, daughter of the late Alfred R. Stedman and Catherine Ann (Hannan) Stedman.
She is survived by the love of her life, her loving husband, Thomas A. Baker, her stepson, Justin Baker and his wife Amanda, and her granddaughters, her precious angels, Emma Veronica Baker and Aminah Lee Baker. She is also survived by members of the Stedman, Zukowski, Beyer, and McClen Families in Connecticut.
She was a member of Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church.
Joyce was a graduate of St. John's High School in Uniontown; Seton Hill University in Greensburg; and California University of Pennsylvania. She was a devoted teacher in the Albert Gallatin Area School District, where she taught sixth-grade for over thirty-five years.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Wednesday, December 8, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.; and on Thursday, December 9, 2010 until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, PA, with Monsignor Michael W. Matusak as Celebrant.
Interment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
The Parish Wake Service will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m.
