Joyce F. Kowalczyk, age 80, of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Latrobe Hospital, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on April 14, 1931 in Sault Ste Marie, MI., daughter of the late Richard Hetherington and Genevieve Hetherington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Kowalczyk; a son George M. Kowalczyk; two brothers; and one sister.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four children; Diana Black and husband John of Smithfield, PA., Cindy Bennett and husband Butch of Greensburg, PA., Linda Kowalczyk of Latrobe, PA and Daniel Kowalczyk of Uniontown, PA.; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Lisa, Johnny, April, Luke, Joel, Barry, and Robert; three great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Olivia, and Brayden; and a sister, Peggy Stevenson, of Indio CA.

Joyce was a homemaker, who was affectionately known as "Bubba" to friends and family alike. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren and three great-grand daughters.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Monday, August 29, 2011 from 9-11 AM.

A Blessing Service will be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Fr. Stephen R. Bugay officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hopwood, PA.
