Josephine A. (Pitek) Sholtis, age 90, of Uniontown, PA, went to her eternal home to be with the lord on Sunday, February 19, 2012 with her devoted family by her side.
She was born on March 18, 1921 in Idamay, WV. the daughter of Martin and Mary (Cheroenchuk) Pitek.
Josephine was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, Pa.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George Sholtis, brothers; Andy Pitek, Mike Pitek, Martin Pitek, John Pitek, Steve Pitek, Frank Pitek and sisters; Veronica Pitek, Mary Balas, Sally Karpiel and Ann Mascioli.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Joan Halajko and husband John, Cynthia Sholtis, Mark Sholtis and wife Renee, grandchildren David Halajko, Stephen Sholtis and wife Laura, Stephanie Gush and husband Shane, Ryan Walker, great grandchildren; Craig Gush, Ashley Gush, Hailey Sholtis, Emily Sholtis, she is also survived by a brother Joseph Pitek and a sister Christine Sievert and many cherished nieces and nephews.
At the family's request there will be no public visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday February 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. in St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, PA, with Monsignor Michael W. Matusak as Celebrant.
Interment will be held in St. John Byzantine Cemetery, Hopwood, PA.
