Josephine V. "Jo" Fiffik, 90, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. She was born in Gans, PA on May 1, 1923.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Michael N. "Pap" Fiffik on March 1, 2012, and three brothers.

For many years Josephine was the cafeteria manager for Clark Elementary School. She loved flowers and was an avid gardener.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving son, Michael E. Fiffik and his wife Regina of Masontown, PA; four grandchildren, Michael Fiffik and wife Cristen and Loren Fiffik and wife Janel, both sons of Sylvia Fiffik Vignali; Morgan Fiffik and Sydney Fiffik, both daughters of Michael and Regina Fiffik; three great grandchildren, Claire, Grace, and Anna Fiffik, all daughters of Michael and Cristen Fiffik; a brother, Mose Rubenstein; and a sister, Anna Rafail; special niece Donna Harvey who was like a daughter to her; and many other nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers at Lafayette Manor Nursing Home, and the wonderful, compassionate ladies who cared for Josephine during her final days.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Thursday, January 16, from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Private Funeral Services will be held for her family on Friday, with her grandson Michael Fiffik officiating.

Entombment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery Chapel of Memories Mausoleum.

The family prefers that memorial contributions in her memory be made to the Green Gardeners, c/o Uniontown Redevelopment Authority, 65 W. Main St., Uniontown, PA for their beautification of Main Street project.
