Joseph P. Semans, 92 of Uniontown passed on Tuesday October 7, 2025. Born January 20, 1933 in Uniontown, son of the late Steve and Rose (Sweda) Semans. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor A. (Lukac) Semans. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two infant sisters. He is survived by his children Joe (Patty), Jim (Donna) and Tom (JoAnn) Semans; his grandchildren, Brian (Ashley), Chris (Mandy), Katie, Aaron Fitzsimmons, Ryan (Jessica) Fitzsimmons, Jen (John) Hines, Megan (Ethan) Dutton and Alli (Danny) Stent; his 9 great- grandchildren; his brothers Steve Semans and Michael (Babe) Semans and sister Margaret Gregg and several nieces and nephews. Joe was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army as well as a member of the VFW. He spent most of his career with Westinghouse Bettis Atomic Laboratories retiring as a Senior Scientist. Joe was also a active member of St. Mary (Nativity) Church where he and Eleanor enjoyed singing in the choir. In their retirement years they enjoyed roller skating and making ceramics. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all his caregivers; OSPTA Home Health & Hospice and Mount Macrina Manor. A special thank you to Darla, Brandon, Heather & Sharon for the loving care they provided. Visitation at Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext. Uniontown Sunday Oct. 12, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Monday Oct. 13th Prayers of Transfer at 9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary (Nativity) Church, 61 N. Mt. Vernon Ave. Uniontown. Burial to follow at Mt. St. Macrina Cemetery where military honors will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial donation in Joe's memory to Mount Macrina Manor, 520 W. Main St., Uniontown, PA 15401.
