Joseph Revak, age 86 of Masontown, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Lafayette Manor Nursing Home, Uniontown, PA.

He was born on July 13, 1924 in Cardale, PA, son of Endie and Anna (Nitch) Revak.

Preceding him in death were his parents; beloved wife Catherine "Kay" (Naypauer) Revak; brothers, Andrew, Mike, John, and Paul Revak; and a sister, Mary Madama.

During World War II, Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army 127th Infantry at the rank of T-Sgt, in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and the Philippines Liberation. He was a highly decorated war veteran receiving 4 Bronze Stars, and 1 Silver Star Medal for Valor, among many ribbons and citations.

Joe was a member of Saint Mary Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, New Salem, Newboro Indians Social Club, member and Past Chaplin of the Fort Mason American Legion Post 423, member of the Faith-Gray-McArdle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584.

He had worked for Fike Chevrolet of Masontown for 40 years as an auto body repairman and was an active member of his community. Above all else Joe was a loving husband, wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a very humble man, and cared deeply for his fellow veterans and many friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Karen M. Cenker and husband Ron of North Myrtle Beach, SC; his beloved grandchildren, David Cenker and wife Jennifer of Melbourne, FL; and Michelle Maly and husband Jim of Olmsted Falls, OH; cherished great grandchildren, Gabe Cenker, Patrick Maly, and Madelyn Maly; his sister, Irene Walters and husband Earl of New Salem, PA; sisters-in-law, Kay Revak of Florida, and Louise Revak of New Salem; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Friends will be received in the Haky Funeral Home, Inc, 515 North Main St., Masontown, Pa. on Tuesday, December 21, from 2-4 and 6-8:30 p.m..; and on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 until 10:15 a.m. when the Panachida Service will be held.

A Divine Liturgy will follow at 11 a.m. in Saint Mary Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, New Salem, PA, with Rev. Father Jerome G. Botsko as Celebrant.

Interment will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA, where Military Honors will be accorded by Faith-Gray-McArdle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584 Honor Guard, and Fort Mason American Legion Post 423 Pallbearers.

The Parastas Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
