Joseph M. Gallis, 74, of Uniontown, died suddenly at home on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. He was born on November 13, 1940 in Uniontown, son of the late Joseph F. and Anna (Grubach) Gallis. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Lee (Dunn) Gallis in 2003.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving daughter Jennifer "Jenny" Tewell and husband Darryl; and grandsons, Nicholas and Wade Tewell, all of Uniontown.

Joe was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church. He earned his degree in Chemistry at West Virginia University, and was employed with Ferro Chemical Corporation in Washington, PA, for many years as Chemical Safety and Health Specialist.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his two grandsons, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and all around sports fan. He was also a member of the B.P.P.A.

Joe had a deep abiding faith in God and his church. In his daily prayers he always included his family and friends. His kindness and generosity knew no measure. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

In his memory, contributions may be made to St. Therese de Lisieux R. C. Church.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Friday, February 27, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. ; and on Saturday, February 28, until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, PA, with Monsignor Michael W. Matusak as Celebrant.

Interment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.

The Parish Wake Service will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
