John Stanley Piwowar, Jr., age 87, of Uniontown, (Vances Mill), PA, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, March 17, 2011.
He was born on October 26, 1923 in Oliver, Pa, son of the late John Stanley Piwowar, Sr. and Agnes Agatha (Rzepka) Piwowar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Kevin Andrew Piwowar, Amanda Kay Piwowar, and T. J. Boyd; a brother Edward Piwowar; and sisters, Stella Piwowar, Anna Zitney, and Sophia Pyro.
John was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, and UMWA Local 6290 Nemacolin. He was a retired Farmer and Coal Miner.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Helen (Chernitsky) Piwowar.

Piwowar, III. and wife Myra, Sandra Costabile and husband Dan, and Timothy Piwowar and wife Kathy, all of Vances Mill, PA; Richard Piwowar and wife Chrissa of Uniontown, PA; Kathleen Vensko and husband David of Uniontown, PA; Theodore Piwowar and wife Barbara of Williamsport, PA; James Piwowar and wife Cathy of Vances Mill, PA; Christopher Piwowar and wife Patrice of Hopwood, PA; and Cynthia Koposko and husband Mark of Vances Mill, PA.
Grandchildren, Holly Donnelly and husband Bob, Sara Collins and husband Erik, Gina Costabile, Dan Costabile, Jr. and wife Tina, Amy Costabile, Dana Opar and husband Bill, Anna Thomas and husband Bill, Denise Piwowar, Tim Piwowar, Jr. and wife Leslie, Joyce Smith and husband Chris, Richard Piwowar, Jr. and wife Teresa, Brian and Adam Piwowar, David, Matthew, and Andrew Vensko, Jason Piwowar and wife Patty, Brad Piwowar and wife Ashley, Michelle Schrock and husband John, Jamie Piwowar, Chris Piwowar, Jr. and wife Tiffany, Laura Koposko, Kenneth Moore and wife Tiffany, and Jimmy Moore and wife Sarah.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Sunday, March 20, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., and on Monday, March 21 until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 180 Old Walnut Hill Rd., Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father Ronald L. Simboli as Celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hopwood, PA.
