John F. Petrush, age 62, a life long resident of Oliver, PA, went to be with God on Friday, April 15, 2011, after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on December 7, 1948 in Connellsville, Pa, son of the late Frances R. & Stella (Mozden) Petrush.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death, by a sister Mary K. Pendelton.
John was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. He retired after 38 years of service with Cavert wire of Oliver, Pa., the greatest joy in his life were his sons and grandsons to whom he passed his love of hunting and fishing, he loved to watch his grandsons shoot 4H and play baseball, he liked to garden and work on tractors, but his greatest pleasure came from sitting in his garage with his youngest son Paul and talking on the phone with his oldest son "Gigs".
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 42 years, Linda K. (Hudson) Petrush, Their children, John R. "Gigs" Petrush and his wife Krystal, Paul C. Petrush and his wife Cheryl, Grandchildren, Ryan, Jason and Chad Petrush, he was also survived by many close relatives, friends and neighbors whom he was always eager to help.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Tuesday April 19, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and on Wednesday April 20, 2011 until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 180 Old Walnut Hill Rd., Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father Ronald L. Simboli as Celebrants.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
