John R. Mateosky Sr,  92 of Uniontown Pennsylvania passed away Monday July 8 ^th ,2019 at St. Clair Hospital in McMurray Pennsylvania.

Born on October 20 ^th , 1926 in Uniontown Pennsylvania to the son of late Joseph and Mary (Painley) Mateosky. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 28 years, Eleanor (Hulway) Mateosky.

John was an Army Veteran of World War II, a devoted father to Jacquelyn Mateosky Alger and to the late John Mateosky Jr.  John was a loving grandfather to four grandchildren Megan Mateosky, Easton Brouklin and Beckam Alger.  John was blessed with five siblings; Steve Mateosky, Joseph Mateosky, Veronica Mateosky Bealko, Ann Mateosky Yersick and Ben Mateosky.

For 38 years John severed as Township Supervisor in addition to 13 years as Township Auditor. With numerous accolades he was respected in the community and by his peers.

Family and friends are welcomed for visitation at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home located at 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown Pennsylvania on Friday July 12 ^th 2019 from 2-4 & 6-9 PM.  On Saturday July 13 ^th 2019 Prayers of Transfer will begin at 9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Catholic Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Nativity Church, Uniontown Pennsylvania.  Interment to follow at St Mary's Nativity Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded. Parish wake will be held on Friday at 3:00 PM led by The Lazarus Group.
