John Thomas Hoferka, 69, of Uniontown, PA, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. He was a son of the late Andy and Slava Hoferka.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Rosemary Hoferka, in 2004; his brother, Andy Hoferka; his sisters, Gertrude Sprusansky, Betty Mutz, and Mary Hoferka.

John was a graduate of Fairchance Georges High School. He retired from U.S. Steel, Clairton Works, in 2005 after 33 years of service. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and was a member of several golf leagues. He was also a member of the Catholic War Veterans. John was a devoted husband, a loving and supportive father and grandfather, and was a great friend to many. He will be loved and missed always.

He is survived by his daughter, Stacey (Hoferka) Jensen and her husband, Brian, of Chicago, IL; his son, Adam Hoferka; his grandchildren, Rosemary and Maxwell Jensen; and his companion, Karen Smith

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, today, Thursday, August 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday, August 17, until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Old Walnut Hill Rd., Uniontown, PA, at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hopwood, PA.
