John C. Baran, age 74, of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the Uniontown Hospital. He was born in McKeesport, PA., on January 10,1939, son of the late John A. Baran and Susan (Mayher) Baran.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his father-in-law, John Kisak; mother-in-law, Mary Kisak ; a son-in-law, John Mateosky Jr.; and Sisters-in-law, Judy Baran and Betty Suchevits,

John was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown PA. He was a member of the Uniontown Polish Club as well as a member of the North Union VFW. John was a graduate of the South Union High School class of 1956. He was an employee of the former Rockwell Manufacturing, currently known as Sensus. John retired after working for the company for 35 years.

John is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Jane Baran; three daughters, Christine Gibbs and husband Gerald of North Carolina, Michele Mateosky of Uniontown PA., and Suzanne Baran of Donegal PA.; grandchildren, Lauren Aaron and husband John of Japan, Ashley Gibbs of North Carolina, and Megan Mateosky of Uniontown PA.; a brother, Larry Baran; and a sister, Carol Cabot and husband Mike. John is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Monday, December 30, 2013 from 4-8 p.m.; and on Tuesday, December 31, until 10:00 a.m., when a Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Fr. James Clark officiating.

Private Interment will then be held in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
