John F. Balosky, Jr., lovingly known as "Peanut", passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at his home in Uniontown, at the age of 57. He was born on March 18, 1953 in Hagerstown, MD, son of John F. Balosky, Sr., who preceded him in death; and Carlita Balosky a resident of Smock, PA.

In addition to his Mother, he is survived by his Fiance of over 20 years, Ann Thorpe; 3 Sons, John Balosky, III. of Uniontown, PA; Anthony Balosky of Brownsville, PA; and Joshua White of Bitner, PA; 3 Step-children, Laura Hendrickson and husband Vergil; Frances Thorpe; and Roy Thorpe, Jr., all of Uniontown, PA; 2 Grandchildren, Kayla and Joshua Hendrickson; 6 Brothers and Sisters, Michaelene Ruffcorn and husband Larry of Brownsville, PA; Donnalee Balosky and husband Robert of Seville, OH; Michael Deeds and wife Omeda of Uniontown, PA; Anthonette Smith and husband Dan of York, PA; Carlita Balosky of Smock, PA; Linda Smitley and husband Donald of Markleysburg, PA; and several Nieces and Nephews.

John had been employed with Advanced Microsystems for many years, and prior to that with Greyhound Bus Lines for several years. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 51 where he served on the Funeral Military Honors Detail, and was an active member of the Moose Lodge #20.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA on Tuesday, October 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.; and on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 until 11:00 a.m., the Hour of Service, with dear family friend Leroy Conrad Officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the Funeral Home Chapel by American Legion Post 51 and North Union VFW Post 8543.
