Jane L. "Jungle" Haky, age 65 of Uniontown, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at home, surrounded by loving family and friends, after a courageous 8 month battle with cancer.
Born September 13, 1946 in New Kensington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thaddeus H. and Hazel L. (Bailing) Buffington. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her step son Stephen R. Haky III and an infant son Richard.
Jane was a 1964 graduate of Uniontown High School and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She was a member of Central Christian Church. She enjoyed painting and drawing classes and yoga.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Stephen R. Haky, Jr.; daughters, Stephanie Ann Georgiana and husband Larry of Uniontown, Kristan Jane Fazenbaker and husband Stephen of Frostburg, MD, Erica Lynn Hancheck and husband Thomas, of McClellandtown, and Jennifer Lynn Sterbutzel and husband Jesse of McClellandtown; grandchildren, Larry and Alexis Georgiana, Slater and Jacob Hafer, Stephen, Sean, and Stephanie Fazenbaker, Aaron Hancheck, Joshua and Danica Sterbutzel, Stephen and Edward Haky; a sister, Judith Shepler and husband Larry of Hickory, NC.; niece, Amy Keepper and husband David; nephew Deke Shepler and wife Beth; daughter-in-law, Nancy Brown; extended family, Leah "Ma" Ringer, Don and Elaine Ringer and children, Robin, Donnie and Rebecca, Justin and Candy Ringer, John and Josephine Richey and Family, Ron Metros; and many close and devoted friends.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc. 603 N Gallatin Ave. Ext. Uniontown, PA 15401 on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 6-8 PM, Friday, January 13 from 1-8 PM and Saturday, January 14 from 10:00-11:30 AM.
A time for sharing reflections from family and friends will be from 11:30 to 12:00 PM when funeral services will be conducted with Rev. Art Mace officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Macrina Cemetery.
