"Smitty" Smith
August 14, 1931 – June 25, 2019
James T. "Smitty" Smith, 87 of Uniontown passed away on Tuesday June 25, 2019 at Mt. Macrina Manor. He was born August 14, 1931 in Uniontown, son of the late Maj. James H. and Anna K. (Kickler) Smith; Beloved husband of the late Patricia (DeCarlucci) Smith with whom he would of celebrated 57 years of marriage; father of Regina (Steven) Smith of Uniontown, Donna Smith of Cranberry Twp. and James (Gail) Smith of Camden, SC; grandfather of Elizabeth (Ryan) Mulac, Michael Springer and Meagan Springer, Giana Smith and Penelope Smith and the late Noah Smith; Great Grandfather of Merrin Mulac; brother of Richard J. (Roseanne) Smith of Needham, MA and the late Charles A. Smith and William R. Smith. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Augustine (Kathy) DeCarlucci of Dallas, TX and sister-in-law Angela (John) Simeone of Rehoboth Beach, DE and several nieces and nephews. Jim was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown and worked at Stewart Collision Service as a autobody refinisher for over 43 years. He enjoyed playing golf and following the steelers and pirates. He missed his dog Tootsie. Friends will be received at Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext. Uniontown on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 50 Jefferson St. Uniontown (Everyone to meet at Church). Interment to follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown where military honors will be accorded. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association in his memory and the family would like to thank the staff at Mt. Macrina Manor for the care given him there.
