James Durant, 86 of Masontown, Pa., passed away on Thursday May 9, 2013.
He was born February 4, 1927 in Collier, Pa., a son of Samuel and Agatha (Vacirca) Durant.
He was a member of All Saint Roman Catholic Church, Masontown, Pa., The Italian Club Masontown, Pa., Hutchinson Sportsman's Club Brownfield, and a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. 1942-1943, over his long career, Mr. Durant was involved in heavy equipment operations for numerous companies
He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife of 61 years, Gladys L. (Hower) Durant, Dominic Durant, Francis "Chippy" Durant, John Durant, Joe "Josey" Durant, William Durant, Jean Durant Schiffbauer, Margaret Durant Schiffbauer, Joann Durant, and Mary Durant Rush.
Left to cherish his memory is his children James E. Durant and his wife Donna, John R. Durant, Mark J. Durant, Robin Y. Lynch and her husband Rick, grandchildren; Tracey L. Galasso, James C. Durant, Alexa B. Lynch, Christian T. Lynch, great grandchildren; Myles C McLaren, Cameron S. McLaren, Madisyn E. Galasso, Adam J. Durant, Mitchell Paul, his sister Kathryn Durant Zuchelkowski, brothers Lou Durant and his wife Marlene and Michael Durant, he was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, PA 15461, on, Monday May 13, 2013 from 1-4 & 6-8 PM and on Tuesday May 14, 2013 until 10:30 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in All Saints Roman Catholic Church, 101 S. Washington St., Masontown, PA with Rev. Father John M. Butler as Celebrant.
Interment will be held in St Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, Pa.
The Parish Wake Service will be held on Monday afternoon at 3 p.m.
