James R. "Buck" Miller, Sr., age 79, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Uniontown Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on January 6, 1932 in Crucible, PA, son of the late Clyde H. Miller and Mary Margaret Smilie Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marlene Eitner Kuhla; and three infant siblings, Mary Gail, Nona Jean, and Donald Miller.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Deborah L. Daniocek Miller; his children, James R. Miller, Jr. of Carmichaels, PA, Leah McKenzie of Carmichaels, PA, Barry Miller of New Castle, PA, and Katlyn Miller of Uniontown, PA; Grandchildren, James R. Miller, III. and wife Percilla of El Paso, TX, Sheena Cumpston of Crucible, PA, Tristan Miller of Crucible, PA, Craig Miller and wife Tiffany of Carmichaels, PA, Keith McKenzie of Clarksburg, WV., Drew McKenzie of Uniontown, PA, Hunter Davis of Carmichaels, PA, and Ashley Miller of New Jersey; and 5 great-grandchildren.
James will be remembered as a strong hardworking husband, father, and grandfather. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, and was an active member in the Keystone Beagle Club.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA.15401 on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.; and on Thursday, February 3, 2011 until 11 AM, the Hour of Service, with Rev. Art Mace Officiating.
Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery Uniontown, PA, where military honors will be accorded by The AMVETS Post 103.
