James S. Boyd, 78 of Mt. Braddock, PA passed on Thursday September 5, 2019 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born December 13, 1940 in Uniontown, son of the late James Boyd and Mary Kerr. Father of Melanie L. Boyd of Marco Island, Fl, Shane S. Boyd of Mt. Braddock, PA, Jimmy Furajter of Lemont Furnace, PA, Brad Furajter of Mt. Braddock PA and the late Kimberly Boyd; grandfather of Jimmy Furajter and Coldren Furajter; brother of David S. Barnes of Cocoa, FL, Dina R. (Glenn) Dague of Fairchance, PA, Debi S. (Larry) Broadwater of Uniontown and the late Daniel H. and Douglas S. (Paula) Barnes; uncle of Danise (Rick) Palo, Glenda Rae (Chad) Davison and Chad D. Broadwater. When born, he was awarded prettiest baby at Uniontown Hospital, he was a veteran of the Marine Corps., serving as a corporal during the Cuban Missile Crisis, he worked at B&O Railroad, Chessie System/CSX Railroad out of Connellsville for 22 years. He held a private pilot's license with Florida Aeronautical, was a avid hunter and fisherman, loved blue grass music, his Ford F-150's, taking mountain rides with his dog Drake, he had a great love of bird watching and a wealth of knowledge of trees. Jim had a great sense of humor and great wit. A loyal friend to all he knew, he made everyone laugh and never met a stranger. Whenever you thought of Jim, everyone smiled; he was a genuine friend to be around. Jimmy loved his beer! One of his favorite sayings is, "one is too many and a hundred is not enough." A memorial service will be held at Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext. Uniontown on Friday (9-13-19) at 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
