Irene A. (Hanzes) Filiaggi, age 90, of Uniontown, PA passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 at her residence. She was born December 11, 1925 in Oliver #1, PA, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kish) Hanzes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Fred A. Filiaggi, and eleven brothers and sisters. Irene was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Filiaggi was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse, having been employed at University Hospitals and Western Reserve Hospital in Ohio. Later she did volunteer work for St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Surviving are many nieces and nephews and their families.

The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and nurses aides of Fayette Home Care and Anova, for their wonderful care.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Sunday, December 4, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.; and Monday, December 5, until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow on Monday, at 10 a.m. in St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, PA.

Interment will be in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.

The Parish Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 4 p.m. followed by the Rosary which will be recited by the Altar Society.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
