Hermina Cervenak (Prah)'s Obituary
Hermina (Prah) Cervenak passed away peacefully on December 8, 2014 with her family by her side at Mt. Macrina Manor. She was 88.
Hermina was born on September 8, The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and passed away December 8, The Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
In addition to her parents, Joseph and Mary Prah of Uniontown, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Prah and Dr. Joseph Prah, D.D.S., and three sisters, Caroline Patchan, Ann Kelley and Helen Locke.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Thomas Cervenak, two sisters, Frances Carter of North Carolina and Mary Jane Shay of Washington, D.C., a very special niece, Veronica Horvath and husband Andrew, and their son Mark, all of Uniontown, PA; and many other nieces and nephews.
Hermina was a longtime member of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown. She was an active member of the Christian Mothers and volunteered at the Saint Vincent DePaul Store for many years. She was employed at Associates Finance Company in both Uniontown and Pittsburgh.
Hermina enjoyed a trip to Paris, France and Medjugorje, Bosnia, but her best vacations were with her siblings and their spouses at Bethany Beach, Delaware for over 40 years.
The family would like to thank the Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants at Mount Macrina Manor for their kindness and compassionate care during Hermina's stay.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Friday from 6-9 p.m., and Saturday until 11:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 12 Noon on Saturday in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Father James D. Tringhese as Celebrant.
Interment follows at Mount St. Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
The family requests donations be made to: Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Attn: Bell Tower Restoration, 50 Jefferson St. ,Uniontown, PA 15401.
