Helen Louise (Barrish) Valentich, 91, of Sarasota, Fl. formerly of Masontown PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 10th 2015 at Hospice Care Center in Sarasota County.
Helen was born on March 3rd 1924 in Masontown, PA, daughter to the late Gabriel and Josephine (Shine) Barrish.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emil J. Valentich, along with 5 sisters and 4 brothers.

Helen was retired from the Sarasota School System, and was very active in different woman's groups in the Sarasota area.

She is survived by one sister, Margaret Russo of Masontown, PA, her sons Michael (Michelle), Sarasota Fl. Robert (Rebecca) Wildwood Fl. Two grand kids, Kelsey Lewis (Chris) and Griffin, (both of Tallahassee) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends were received for fellowship at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, 40 North Orange Ave. Sarasota Fl. on Saturday, March 14th 2015, from 6-8 p.m.

Visitation will be held at the Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 515 North Main St., Masontown, PA, on Friday, March 20th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.

A Blessing Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 21st 2015 in the funeral home chapel with Father James F. Petrovsky officiating.

Interment will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help St. Mary Cemetery, Leckrone, PA.
