Helen (Stefanic) Salvo, 95 of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Generations Elder Care, Uniontown, PA.
She was born on April 9, 1919 in Bitner PA, daughter of the late Samuel and Julia (Rajac) Stefanic.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Vilcheck, who was killed in active duty during World War II; and also her second husband Greno (Butch) Dominick Salvo.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church.
Helen had been employed with the Fayette County Probation Office, then
she and her late husband Butch operated the Salvo Insurance Agency for many years. Helen later served as the Assistant to the Major of Military Science at Akron University.
Left to cherish her memory are four children, Rita Cope and Renee Smith and husband Kenneth, all of Uniontown PA, Samuel Salvo of Clearwater Florida, and William Salvo of St. Petersburg Florida; four grandchildren, Ryan Cope, Robert Deskovich and wife Marjorie, Emma Salvo, and Nick Salvo; two great-grand children, Benjamin and Bennett Deskovich; and many other loved family members.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc. 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown PA, on Saturday, May 24, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m..
A Christian Burial Service will be held at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Father Ronald P. Larko Officiating.
Interment will follow at Mt. St. Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown PA.
