Helen L. Smitley, 97 of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Monday June 13, 2016.

She was born November 3, 1918 in Leisenring, Pa., a daughter of Valent William and Katerina (Valesko) Soltis.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband P.C. Smitley Jr., her son William Smitley, infant grandson Peter A. Smitley, infant granddaughter Mary Michael, her sisters Katarina Soltis, Annie Soltis brothers Albert Soltis Stefan Soltis, Michael Soltis and her step sisters Anna and Mary.

A member of St. Aloysius Church, Dunbar, PA she was also a member of the former St. Vincent De Paul Roman Catholic Church and St Vincent De Paul Ladies Guild.

Left to cherish her memory is her children Janet Michael and her fianc Richard Kasunic, Joyce Wydo and her husband David, Don Smitley and his wife Toni, Darlene McIntyre and her husband Steve, Grandchildren Gina Williams and her husband Paul, Marc Michael and his wife Beth, Brian Giachetti and his wife Amanda, Leigh Smitley, Don Smitley, Peyton McIntyre, Dawson McIntyre, 10 great grandchildren, a special niece Jacque Galik whom helped care for her, she is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa. Thursday June 16, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., and on Friday June 17, 2016 until 9:15 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m., in St. Aloysius Church, Dunbar, PA with Fr. Micah E. Kozoil as celebrant.

Interment will be held in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
