Obituary

Helen M. (Ponzurick) Lucostic, age 90, of Smock, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

She was born on December 12, 1919 in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of Andrew and Mary (Carnot) Ponzurick.

Her parents; a brother Andrew Ponzurick, Jr. (WWII Philippines); and a sister Evelyn Warken preceded her in death.

Helen was a member of Saint Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, Smock, PA. She was a Beautician for many years, and had also been a Teacher's Aide at Smock Elementary School. She enjoyed spending time in Wheeling at the casino, Traveling, and taking trips with friends as they followed the Dynasonics Polka Band made many happy memories. Above all else she cherished Sunday dinners prepared at home, where she could enjoy her family, and share good times.

Surviving is her beloved husband of 70 years, Michael C. Lucostic; their Children, "Mick" A. Lucostic of Smock, PA; Carol M. Galvin and husband Dale of Hopwood, PA; and Janet M. Frescura and husband Robert of Jeannette, PA; four Grandchildren, Donald Crawford, II of Uniontown, PA; Erin S. Maheridis and husband Pete of Columbia, MD; Justin M. Rebovich of Perryopolis, PA; and Mike Frescura of Jeannette, PA; two Sisters, Patricia Di Cenzi and husband Armand of Canton, OH; and Margaret E. Pegritz of Fayette City, PA; and many Nieces and Nephews.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, this evening (Thursday, November 18) 6-9 p.m.; Friday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.; and on Saturday until 9:45 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, Smock, PA, with Rev. Father James F. Petrovsky as Celebrant.

Entombment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.

The Parish Rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM on Friday.

The Parish Wake Service will be held on Friday evening at 7 p.m.

Helen's family sincerely thanks the doctors, nurses, and support staff of Allegheny General Hospital, especially Dr. Haj Ali and Dr. Leonardo Machado.
