Helen Elizabeth (Zidek) Furin, age 91 of West Mifflin, PA, formerly of Uniontown, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 10, 2011.

She was born on May 12, 1919 in Filbert, PA., daughter of Andrew and Angeline (Hubany) Zidek. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband John Furin, and many dear brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Barbara Eileen Furin, with whom she made her home for the past 10 years; and Bernadette Marie Furin, both of West Mifflin, PA.; a sister, Mary Ann Kordella and husband Frank of New Salem, PA.; a brother, Ted Zidek and wife Oralee of Arlington, TX.; and many nieces and nephews and their families. Helen will also be missed by beloved pets, "Gracy" and "Bentley".

Helen is remembered by her family and friends as a gracious, kind, and gentle lady. She made her home a place of comfort for her beloved family, and will be deeply missed.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA on Sunday, February 13, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, and Monday, February 14, 2011, until 10:15 AM when prayers of transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 50 Jefferson St., Uniontown, PA with Rev. Father Michael J. Crookston as Celebrant.

Interment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
