Helen S. Fiffick, 94 of Uniontown, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Point Manor North Personal Care Home, Uniontown, PA. She was born on April 15, 1919 in Uniontown, PA, daughter of Andrew M. and Johanna (Franchok) Fiffick.
She was the last member of her immediate family, preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, John Fiffick in infancy, Steven Fiffick, Andrew Fiffick Jr., Rev. Father John Fiffick, Joseph Fiffick, Charlie Fiffick; and four sisters, Mary Kurta, Ann Kurta, Pauline Sroka, and Josephine Smorada.
Helen was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, and Rosary Society. For over forty years she had been employed with Berkowitz Garment Factory as a seamstress.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Paulette Smorada and Marlene Krevinko and husband Ted, who were her caregivers, Mildred Osminski, Helen Kirk, Joseph Fiffick, Paul Fiffick, Andrew Fiffick III, Dolores Sullivan, Barbara Canistra, Maxine Yohman, Richard Kurta, Donald Sroka, and Sharon Sroka; a brother-in-law Bill "Ted" Sroka; also many great nieces and great nephews and their families.
With sincere appreciation, we thank the staff of Point Manor North, and the nurses and aides of Amedysis Hospice for their kindness and compassion during Helen's time with them.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA., on Sunday, March 9, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and on Monday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. when a Panachida Service will be held.
The Divine Liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father Ronald P. Larko as Celebrant.
Interment will be held at Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
