Obituary

Helen Henrietta (Hosa) Doman, age 91, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters, on Thursday, September 8, 2011.

She was born on July 31, 1920 in Dearth, PA, daughter of John and Catherine (Kostka) Hosa, who preceded her in death.

Helen was also preceded in death by her loving husband, James J. Doman on February 5, 2009; four sisters, Catherine Hudik, Mary Kocan, Margaret Serafin, and Ann Mancini; and three brothers, John Hosa, Paul Hosa, and Steve Hosa.

Helen was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, St. Mary Confraternity of Christian Mothers; and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Union.

She had been employed with the former White Swan Hotel, Metzler's Department Store, and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a PBX Operator. Helen was an avid Quilter, and above all else a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Joyce Grote and her late husband Herbert of LaPlata, MD; Mary K. Yurechko and her husband John of Hopwood, PA; and Barbara D. Bullers of Uniontown, PA; six grandchildren, Beth Ann Grote, Alison Thompson and her husband Scott, Melissa Yurechko and her husband Tim Ditlow, John Eric Yurechko and his wife Amanda, Emily Bullers, and Matthew Bullers; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Dancho of Michigan; and sister-in-law, Mrs. Steve (Helen) Hosa of Illinois; many nieces and nephews, and their families; and two special friends, Pat Graham of Pittsburgh, PA, and Shirley Franks of Bitner, PA.

Heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at King's Personal Care Home for their compassion and devotion to our mother's care.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Sunday, September 11, from 5-8 p.m.; and on Monday, September 12, until 9:15 a.m., when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 North Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father Stephen R. Bugay as Celebrant.

Interment will be held at Mount Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA

The Parish Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 6 p.m., immediately followed by the Confraternity of Christian Mothers Rosary.
